Cask @ GBBF 2014. The beer starts nice roasted malty and highly drinkable. Lots of flavour for this low ABV. The floral hop character is nice above the sweetish roasted malt body, but could me much more intense. The same is for the roasted malts. It’s a great hoppy dark session ale, but not an intense dark IPA! The aftertaste has chocolate there, very smooth and nice. On the tongue stays a roasted chocolate character with floral bitter hints. Nice!

Cask at the Harp - Covent Garden, London. Pours clear brown with a frothy tan head. The nose holds well toasted bread, light smoke and hints of chocolate. Light to medium sweet flavor with rich smoke and bacon, light chocolate, some earthy bitterness. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Great condition. Dynamic finish, pleasant smoked malts and bacon, burnt toast, light cocoa, charred wood, a bit of scorched earth. Solid porter. Good depth for 5%.

--> sehr süffig-leckeres Bier. Ganz leicht wässrig, aber trotzdem toll! --> 13/12/12/13

1/3 pint, cask at GBBF 2013. Good looking with a deep, dark brown body and a lasting beige head. Spotty lacing down the glass. Mild roasted malts on the nose. Similar taste, mid-sweet. Dry malty ending. A bit diluted, still a good mild (London Olympia 13.08.2013)

500 ml bottle purchased from The Tiddly Pomme, Faversham. A clear, dark golden body with a small off-white head. A bit unusually hop aroma, expecting more citric from the cascade, but this is more dominated by grass and hay with a hint of ripe fruit and caramel. Not bad in the nose, just a bit surprised. Flavor is mild malty, some caramel, hint of fruit and rather moderate in bitterness. Medium body and a bit short in aftertaste. A decent ale, but rather straight forward and somehow disappointing from what the label where promising, not much of hop flavors here.
