Thick, stable (!) yellowish head over orange-golden beer; very lively carbonated. Superb citrus-lemony nose, Bretts, horseblanket, horsestable, thick grapeskins. Great wheaty gueuze, mild horseblanket, lemony(rind) hints. Medium bodied, wheatslick, very good carbonation. Superb gueuze! I'm really starting to expect nothing else but topproducts from Lambiek Fabriek.

Lambiek Fabriek has been anything but idle during this whole coronavirus episode - after their first two fruit beers, a kriek and a grape lambic, they now present this organic geuze, blended from lambics made with organic ingredients. No wonder that it was immediately seized by Bioplanet, the organic branch of the Colruyt supermarket chain, where this geuze is now widely available, only a couple of weeks after its launch. This rating is from a 37.5 cl bottle with crown cap and cork, bought at the Bioplanet in Drongensesteenweg in Ghent. Opens with 'gun smoke' rising up from the bottle neck. Off-white, mousy, fizzing, lightly patch-lacing, quickly opening head, dissipating into a waferthin ring over a hazy pale orangey peach blonde robe. Aroma initially dominated by sharp carbon dioxide, but this effect quickly makes room for impressions of haystack, sourdough, dried lemon peel, freshly mowed lawn, grape skins, unripe plum, sour apples, soggy old bread crust, raw rhubarb, bitter green herbs, sunflower seeds, giant hogweed juice, old dusty cupboard. Very crisp onset, green sour fruitiness of wild apples, green gooseberries, redcurrant and fresh sorrel laced with a lemony acidic edge, lively and minerally carbonated; very light peachy touch hidden somewhere underneath the tartness. Soft bready-wheaty malt base dried by lactic sourness in a very refreshing and lively way, some funky Brettanomyces effects (damp hay, light 'horseblanket') but in a fairly subtle way, followed by a 'dusty old', tannic woodiness and long lingering sour fruitiness well-connected with a deeper, brief, late earthy hop bitterish note. Very elegant, crisp, exemplary geuze, a bit young still, perhaps, but I will certainly put a few of these away to see how they evolve. Looking back at this very likeable lambic brewery's history, they have clearly evolved, as I predicted back when I first tasted their very first batch of Brett-Elle at a young age - in comparison, this Natur-Elle clearly boasts more experience, maturity and refinement. Well done guys, keep up the good work, I would say!

Taster, many thanks to Sander! Straw colored, slightly hazy body, with a big, frothy, lacing, white head. Aroma of straw, cheesy funk, pale grapes, white wine, some citrus. Tastes similar, crisp and balanced, with some more apple skin and horse blanket. Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation. Finishes crisp, dry, moderate funky, a bit vinous, a bit wooden, with grapes, citrus, apple skin. Tasty! Beautiful, balanced stuff, with the grapes, fruity and funky notes in great harmony. So crisp and fresh to drink. Maybe not the most complex grape Lambic ever, but exactly my taste, could drink this all day! Score: 8 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 17

Little cloudy pink to ruby beer, big pink head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: nice, lots of cherries, acidic impression, some marzipan, bit funky. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity, cherries, nice acidity, soft bitterness, almonds, bit lemony. Aftertaste: dry, fruity, bit lemony, nice funky cherries, lovely stuff, nice beer, very good!

Paired with a classic okonamyaki (Japanese cabbage pancake with bacon), paired very nicely!

Bottle. Etre, I think. Dusky, dark pink. Thin and super dense, pink head. Looks boss. Nose has sweet cherry and vanilla. Sweet oak. Chamois. Clean brett. Longley Farm cherry yoghurt. Taste is sharp, tart, and super fruity cherry. Dry and clean on the palate. Fresh and foamy carbonation. Tart fruit to finish. Great stuff.
