Description
We started Braybrooke in 2017 with just one aim - to make really good lager. Beer doesn’t have to be complicated as long as it’s made in the right way with a commitment to quality. That’s exactly what we’re doing, brewing proper lager in the heart of the English countryside, near Market Harborough.

Keg tap at the 2019 Leicester Beer Festival. Dark gold to light amber with a tiny ring of off-white head. Caramel and orange zest in the aroma. Sweet chewy taste with eggy brioche in the finish. Nicely carbonated.

Bottle from Wine Reserve, Cobham (not Chobham - admittedly initially got that the wrong way around). Sweet gluey marzipan aroma. Caramel brown. Thin translucent white head mainly clings to the rims. Light nutty sweetness with some bitterness hanging around on the periphery. Medium bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Long slightly sickly finish. Had heard good things about this brewey but this is just an average, if not overly chemical/industrial, lager. Looking at previous rating, perhaps it's better on tap.

Many thanks to jjsint in Leicester for a bottle, #042, of this one. Bubbly pearl white head to a clear golden-brown body, clingy lacing. Earthy malts on the nose, distant hints of herbal hops. Pale malt driven flavours with impacts of noble hops. Mid-dry ending. Clean on the swallow. Satisfying. (Shared with lmojoh, Finn and djoeye, Rating session at Finn's in Tromsø 06.03.2019).

Many thanks to jjsint in Leicester for a bottle, #047, of this one. Crocheted lacing from a pearl white head. Misty golden body. Fresh pale malty nose, hints of herbs. Bread together with some impacts of ripe fruits to the taste buds. Distant leafy hops towards the finish. Fair enough. (Shared with lmojoh, Finn and djoeye, Rating session at Finn's in Tromsø 06.03.2019).

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at Hop Burns & Black. Pours clear yellow with a frothy, pure white head. Great stuff overall, clean and crisp, pleasant dry biscuits, straw, pale grains. Light bodied with active, massaging carbonation. Quick finish, more dry biscuity character, nips of grass, hay. Solid stuff.
