Box @ Stable, Birmingham. Pours clear blood red, no head. Pleasant cherry aroma. Taste is clean, soothing cherry, easy-going with little in the way of actual cider apple, or even alcohol. More like cherry fruit juice.

Bottle at the Watford tasting thanks to Sarah & Fergus. It pours clear rich gold with a few bubbles on the cap. The aroma is sweet, fresh, honey, fruit pie & ice-cream, nectarine and pear tart tatin. The taste is bitter - sweet, juicy, honey action, toffee, oily, fruit pie, nectarine, candy and some warming alcohol. The finish is deceptively smooth. Medium body, light carbonation and slick, oily mouth-feel. Drinks pretty easy. Rather decent.

Flavour is composed of sweet earthy honey, warming alcohol, sugary. Pronounced honey character. Palate is very sweet sugary, lowish carbonation.

125ml glass at the 2016 Cambridge Beer Festival. Golden and clear. Sticky, sweet buttery scent. Not getting the promised spices, maybe a bit of clove but the scent is strong, honeyed and inviting. Sweet and slightly spiced without being sickly. Thick, sticky, gooey body. Long sexy finish. As mead should be.

Bottle courtesy of my ex-wife. Dark gold, clear. Gluey aroma with some honey and caramel. Lovely sweet and spicy taste. Weakish body but nice spicy sour finish. Better than I thought it would be.

Draught at Augustus John, Liverpool. Cloudy orange gold colour, no head and aroma of mellow apple. Taste is tangy apple, apple skin, hints of ginger & spice, along with drying tannins. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry tannic finish. Quite OK.

Glass at Reading BF 2016. To Simon Haddonsman who i shared a Bottle of Lyme Mead with 10 years ago here in a hotel room in Reading. Clear amber colour no head. Ginger on aroma along with sweet candied citrus fruits. It’s lovely though. Way too sweet but has a ginger sweet ginger edge. Some nougat lots of honey sweet sugar. Exactly what i expected and wanted. Unsubtle.
