On cask at the Star Inn Malty smooth and...well caskish. SOme toasty biscuity malt notes. Not bad.

Bottle at home. A very watery beer with little in the way of hops, malt and any flavour for that matter. A very old school session bitter and not good.

2012. Pitch black color. Deep licorice, molasses, smokey and roasted malt character. Medium body, a touch of port, pear, chocolate, tobacco leaf, iodine molasses, low carbonation, but very nice. Excellent complexity. Alcohol well hidden. Smooth. Nice brownies and port with pear finish.

PoW, Farnborough. Lack of ticks today... Vague malty aroma with some vinegar tones. Bright chestnut. A waning crescent of thin bubbly white head. Light bitter with some underlying sweetness. Biscuits, malts, some summer berries. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Abrupt finish. As I drink more the bitterness became more prevalent but a basic passable bitter. Slightly more interesting than the bottled version.
