Description

Bottled 500ml (BZ, BB 08/2012)
Pale yellow color, small white head. Cardboardish aroma with herbal hoppyness and vegetables. Medium-bodied. Very sweet maltyness in the background, then herbal hoppyness with hints of cooked vegetables. Not very balanced bock from this below average brewery.

Clear ruby color, steady cream beige head, lace. Slightly caramelly-toasted aroma but mostly cardboardish woodyness. Light to medium-bodied. Toasted caramelly flavor with low woody hoppyness. Kind of chocolaty. Standard dunkel.

Bottled as "Export Dunkel" (BB 12/2005)
Dark ruby brown, good creamy tanned head. Lemony hoppy nose. Medium-bodied, malty, some bitterish hops in the finish. Good balanced dunkel, which is finishing to dry, a bit roasted malty notes. Drinkable but not unforgettable.

Bottle: Golden, hazy, mid-sized stable white head; vanilla, wood, bananas, yeast and wheat in the nose; moderate sweetish-sourish flavour, medium bodied; delicate hoppy traces in the wheaty-fruity finish, supported by a tinge of vanilla, again. Good Weizen......

50cl bottle from Biezwerg. BBE 21092011. Poured dark brown with a frothy, slowly disappearing beige head. Caramel, smoke, earthy aroma, very tempting. Flavor is light smoke, roasted malt and instant coffee. Finish is long, with instant coffee taste that stays forever. Excellent dunkel, one of the better I have tasted in a long time. Body is maybe on the thinner side, but overall very delicious.

(bottle) Cloudy, pale golden colour with a blond medium-sized foamy head. Yeasty, wheaty and distinctively banana-fruity aroma with flowery notes in the background. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a spritzy carbonation. Wheat-malty and banana-fruity taste with clovy notes turning up towards the slightly sweet and bitter-tart finish. A straight but not very special Hefeweizen. 05.VII.11

Bottle from Markgrafen Bamberg
Beautiful dark amber color. Aroma of roasted malts, heavily roasted, but the aroma is mild, therefore appreciated. The body is medium-thin, the mouthfeel is dry; roasted malt and dark caramel flavor, never excessive, with correct bitterness, unfortunately also a sharp metallic note in the end. A good hybrid between a Schwarz and a Dunkel, surely appreciated by lovers of roasted flavors.
