2019 vintage. 250mL bottle, pours a rusted dark reddish brown, a few bubbles head. Aroma is full of oxidation, butterscotch, and bready caramel. Flavour is very yeasty and muddled, with a bunch of earthy yeastiness, alcohol, and poorly calibrated malts. Chaotic and just not put together well.

250mL bottle. Pours murky brown with not much head. Bready malts on the nose. Flavour has stale bread, crusts, a touch bourbon barrels. This is very messy, I'm not sure what's wrong with it per se, but it's just really not very well done.

330mL bottle. Pours black with a beige head. Dry roasted malts on the nose. Flavour has a very dry roast character; not depth or complexity and almost chalky in the degree of dryness in the palate. This is surprisingly boring and almost unpleasant to drink.

330mL bottle, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma has chalky roasted malt, a bit of herbal/vegetal notes, and a dusty dry cocoa powder. Flavour is dusty and dry, with a chalky dry malt character, bitter cocoa powder, and earthiness. Dusty, chalky, earthy; there’s not much depth or proper balance here. Disappointing.

On tap at Officina, pours a clear golden amber with a medium white head. Aroma has some resinous hops, moderate fruitiness, and light spiciness. Flavour has resinous hops, earthiness, and gentle fruitiness. Clean and bright. Very good.

On tap at Officina, pours a clear dark amber red with a small beige head. Aroma brings out deep crusty bready malt and toasted caramel. Flavour is dry and malty, with bready malt, toasted caramel, and a touch of nuttiness. One of the most interesting Irish red ales I’ve had in a while. Good for the style.

On tap at Officina, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of tropical fruits and floral hops. Flavour is super fruity, with lots of tropical fruits, floral hops, and a touch of resins. Super fruity and bright. Excellent.

On tap at Officina, pours an opaque filthy orange with a small white head. Nose is full of passionfruit, espresso, and just strange earthiness. Flavour is jumbled and confused, with pithy tropical fruits and earthy coffee notes. A jumbled mess but not offensive. Decent.

Sample at Solothurner Biertage, may 2019. Unclear orange body with a dense off-white head. Aroma is fruity, acidic and slightly funky. Flavor like aroma, sour fruit, apricot, soft malt, wood. Smooth and refreshing.

Sample at Solothurner Biertage, may 2019. Dark brown body with a small tan head. Aroma of dark malt, smooth roast, dry fruit, dark chocolate, some coffee, mild acidity, wood and vinous alcohol. Flavor goes in the same direction as aroma, smooth, tasty and malty with a refreshing acidic sting. Wood With hint of Vanilla and balanced biterness, balanced flavors, balanced body and pleasant aftertaste.
