Description
Cellarmaker Brewing Company has been in the works for quite some time. Look for our beers to start making their way around better known beer bars and beer focused restaurants in San Francisco starting in September.
We have a tasting room in the same building as the brewery and will offer tasters, pints, and growlers. Some beers may be bottled further down the line but for now it's all draft. The only way you can take our beer away is in the form of a growler - which by the way, is a great way to drink beer!
Look for a focus of plenty of hoppy beers, belgian-style saisons, dark beers, and sour beers. We are huge fans of wine and bourbon barrel aged beers as well so it's only natural for us to have a barrel program. Think bourbon barrels loaded with big chewy imperial stouts, excessively hopped IPAs, fruited sour beers, and funky saisons. This is what we love. This is what we are all about. We hope you are too!
Please follow along for the ride as we build San Francisco's next great brewery.
Cheers!

Tap. Pours a nice hazy golden with a medium white head that lingers and laces well. Aroma is hop forward, dank, tropical, citrus and pine. Flavor is very light sweet, light plus bitter; pretty balanced despite what AJ says. Light bodied and a bit watery, as expected for a 4% beer. Solid and drinkable.

Tap. Pours inky black with a medium dark brown creamy head that dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is very roasty, lots of dark chocolate and coconut. Flavor is light plus sweet, quite bitter, lots of roastiness, some coconut notes, as well as bakers chocolate. Definite heat, but considering the ABV it is fairly muted. Solid.

Sample at Good Karma in San Jose. Hazy amber-gold color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of tropical fruit, pine and hops. Medium body with a piney hops character and notes of sweet citrus fruits and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a resiny hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

On draught at Good Karma in San Jose. The beer pours a hazy yellow-gold color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of tropical fruit, hops and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of tropical fruit, melon, piney hops and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Full pour. Pours a crystal clear pale amber with a medium off-white head that dissipates slowly and laces well. Aroma is tropical citrus, just a whiff of buttery passionfruit and some pine. Lacking the dank pottiness or cat piss that I typically get from Citra-Simcoe combinations. Flavor has some light sweetness and medium bitterness, juicy, tropical, citrus and some pine. Medium body and indeed a nice silky mouthfeel from the wheat. Solid.
