Description
Cellarmaker Brewing Company has been in the works for quite some time. Look for our beers to start making their way around better known beer bars and beer focused restaurants in San Francisco starting in September.

We have a tasting room in the same building as the brewery and will offer tasters, pints, and growlers. Some beers may be bottled further down the line but for now it's all draft. The only way you can take our beer away is in the form of a growler - which by the way, is a great way to drink beer!

Look for a focus of plenty of hoppy beers, belgian-style saisons, dark beers, and sour beers. We are huge fans of wine and bourbon barrel aged beers as well so it's only natural for us to have a barrel program. Think bourbon barrels loaded with big chewy imperial stouts, excessively hopped IPAs, fruited sour beers, and funky saisons. This is what we love. This is what we are all about. We hope you are too!

Please follow along for the ride as we build San Francisco's next great brewery.
Cheers!

From notes taken while drinking at the anniversary party. Aroma is fairly roasty with quite a bit of coffee. Light chocolate, smoke and leather notes. Hints of alcohol. Pours black with a faint tan head that quickly disappears. No lacing and moderate legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with moderately strong roast and coffee notes. Smokiness is light and compliments nicely without ever taking too much attention away from the other notes. Medium light chocolate and light leather character. Medium light bitterness and light alcohol warmth. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a really nice imperial stout. The smoke character is really well balanced and inoffensive and adds a nice complexity tot he coffee and roast notes. Tons of fresh coffee.

From notes taken while drinking on tap at the anniversary party. Aroma is super hoppy with a ton of citra character. Light background cracker malt notes. Lots of citrus with some tropical fruit and light stone fruit. Grapefruit, orange and tangerine. Pours a very cloudy, pale yellow gold. Small white head with good retention and light lacing. Flavor is slightly malty with some cracker notes and light bread. Lits of citrus character with orange and tangerine. Light tropical fruit notes. Medium high bitterness and a hint of alcohol spice. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a super crushable citra IPA. So much hop aroma and flavor with Cellarmaker’s standard, light malt backbone. Light sweetness hides the alcohol and bitterness well.

From notes taken while drinking on tap at the brewery. Aroma is very hop forward with a ton of tropical fruit notes and lighter pineapple. Lots of passion fruit. Faint cracker malt backbone. Pours a clear, pale yellow gold with a small white head that displays average retention. Light lacing and small legs. Flavor has a light sweetness with faint cracker and biscuit malt notes; Cellarmaker does the base malt character well. Lots of tropical fruit hop notes with some light citrus character. Medium bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall a great example of Riwaka hops with tons of tropical fruit character. Standard Cellarmaker base malt notes that really let the hops shine.

From notes taken while drinking it on tap at the brewery. Aroma is moderately oak forward with quite a bit of red wine tannins and character. Medium light stone fruit and red apple. Light grain notes. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a thin white head that lingers on the edges. No lacing and faint legs. Flavor is moderately bitter with quite a bit of oak tannins and red wine character. Moderate pear, stone fruit and red apple. Light grain notes. Fairly mineral water notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency, but present with a low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice saison but I think it could use a bit of time away from the oak for the notes from the barrels to integrate better. A bit of a flabby character as well.
