Description
Cellarmaker Brewing Company has been in the works for quite some time. Look for our beers to start making their way around better known beer bars and beer focused restaurants in San Francisco starting in September.

We have a tasting room in the same building as the brewery and will offer tasters, pints, and growlers. Some beers may be bottled further down the line but for now it's all draft. The only way you can take our beer away is in the form of a growler - which by the way, is a great way to drink beer!

Look for a focus of plenty of hoppy beers, belgian-style saisons, dark beers, and sour beers. We are huge fans of wine and bourbon barrel aged beers as well so it's only natural for us to have a barrel program. Think bourbon barrels loaded with big chewy imperial stouts, excessively hopped IPAs, fruited sour beers, and funky saisons. This is what we love. This is what we are all about. We hope you are too!

Please follow along for the ride as we build San Francisco's next great brewery.
Cheers!

Poured from an undated 16 oz can. Aroma is a hop forward blend of dank and fruit. Orange, grapefruit and tropical citrus with lighter passion fruit and guava notes. Quite a bit of dank, oily resin. Light cracker malt notes and light alcohol notes. Pours a clear, golden color with a medium sized, thick, fluffy, white head that recedes steadily to the edges where it lingers in clumps. Light lacing and small legs. Flavor is a bit sweet with light cracker malt notes and a hint of caramel. Fairly high bitterness with light alcohol notes. Lots of orange, grapefruit and tropical citrus with lingering dank, oily resin and pine notes. Light passion fruit, lychee and guava notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid West Coast IPA. Really nice hop aroma with a bit of a more traditional West Coast hop flavor profile. Alcohol is well hidden and bitterness balances nicely with the hop notes.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated June 17, 2024. Aroma is dank and resinous, but it also contains a lot of gooseberry, passion fruit and tropical citrus notes. Light cracker malt notes and light alcohol notes. Pours a clear, brilliant, yellow-gold with a medium large, thick, fluffy, white head that recedes steadily to a small film that lingers in clumps on the edges. Flavor is slightly sweet with medium light cracker malt notes. Medium high bitterness and light alcohol notes. Moderately strong dank, resin and ruby red grapefruit notes with lighter notes of pineapple, tropical citrus, berry and passion fruit. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid pale ale. I really like the hop notes in the aroma, but wish the hops in the flavor were a touch more on the fruity side. Alcohol and malt notes are well balanced; a very enjoyable beer.
