From a 50 cl bottle shared at the 2016 Nuplastik is back tasting. Pours a hazy pinkish amber with an off white head. Tart cherry aroma. Flavors of oak and wine. Smooth finish.

Bottle. Beautiful clear rosy golden amber color, bright off pink head. Nice tropical fruit aroma with subtle tannins. Taste is fruity, lightly vinous, softly sour. very easy drinking. Delicious.

22oz bottle shared by RiversideAK. Cloudy blonde. This beer is cool, its not sweet, its not estry. Great start. Then its not alcohol or barrel heavy, which is amazing for the convoluted barrel aging. Finally its got an original aroma and flavor, which my best guess is like vermouth but I have no idea what vermouth tastes like.

Sample at Denver Rare Beer Tasting VII on 09/25/2015. Cloudy yellow color with a thin white head that evaporates steadily. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of yeast, fruit and spices. Full-bodied with flavors of peppery yeast, bananas, grainy malt and spice. The finish is sweet with a fruit and malt aftertaste Above average overall.

Tap at the brewery - turbid purplish pour - probably the most straight up sour and acidic of the three - nose of Cabernet and earth black current, tart raspberry and fruit skin funkiness - flavors of semi sour stone fruit - moderate sourness and acidity through the middle, light savoriness before a moderate Brett funk develops - cherry skin, strong cab to finish - number one is still my favorite.

Bottle. Golden body with a frothy, white head, lasting. Aroma of toasted grain, basement mustiness, lemon zest, pepper, plastic. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Alcohol in the finish. Sweet for a saison with light banana taste along with spices and citrus.

Tulip at the brewery - hazy straw with a pinkish hue - nose fairly heavy on the hibiscus, moderate cab, mild oak, subtle Brett funk - flavor is medium tart, with moderate sweet/sour hibiscus, slight background acetic acid - barrel character is subdued, slight vinous notes from the barrel - very mild Brett bugginess - pretty good - I prefer the first.

Goblet at the brewery - hazy dark gold/orange - nose is big on barrel, said me tannins, and buttery can notes, a little bit of funk and moderate acidity - Nice froth in the mouth - dry, with a nice quenching acidity to it - moderate cab, medium tartness, white grape skin, some sweet peach and mango through the middle - finishes with moderate funk and acidity.

Goblet at the brewery - deep black pour - this is an odd one - first off, the stout characteristics are great - deep, rich maltiness, roast, espresso, dried cherries, red wine-like tannins - the character from the "cocktail" barrel certainly odds an interesting dimension, although I’m not sure if I like it or not - I taste gin, mint, aromatic bitters - a lot of the character kind of tastes like an Old Fashioned - these qualities don’t overpower, and as it warms, the character of the base beer becomes the focus (which might well be Avarice), with notes of dark fruit, smoke, dark chocolate - the barrel qualities mellow and settle in a lot better at this stage - overall interesting and flavorful - finish is a little too boozy, though.
