Bottle. Pours a hazy orange gold with medium frothy white head that leaves spotty lacing. The aroma is wood, vanilla, yeast, caramel. Thin mouth, strong whiskey, vanilla, wood, burnt toasted malt, light dryness, very good.

Turbid gold - nicely executed barrel aging with this one - soft texture - medium sweet on the approach, with some melon and citrus, but with a cutting acidity as the barrel character builds up - light funkiness - toasted oak and moderate tannins and buttery notes from the cab - moderate bitterness and tartness finish, as some.phenolics from the base beer come through - nice balance of sweet, tart, and bitter.

Tap at the brewery - hazy dark copper - a little americanized in the bitterness department, but otherwise a fairly strong attempt from this brewery focusing on belgian styles - rich, bready malt character, a mild mineral bite, the hop character is fairly bright and fruity - finishing bitterness is a little high, but otherwise pretty strong.

16oz can picked up at College Liquors
Pours cloudy orange/golden with a medium sized off-white head, good lacing. Aroma of bright citrus, yeast and herbal. Taste is fruit, grains with a lemon zest finish
Ok, but I wouldn’t want another.

On tap @ Avery Strong Ale Fest 2015. Dark brown appearance with a dark brown head. Coconut, whiskey, dark chocolate, caramel, toffee, and a bit of roast in the aroma. Lots of coconut and chocolate in the mouth. A bit thin. Kind of boozy. Overall, pretty enjoyable.

On tap @ Avery Strong Ale Fest 2015. Bright, cloudy yellow orange appearance with a white head. Mango, tropical fruit, wheat, and candy in the nose. Boozy flavor. Bubblegum, banana, tangerine flavors. Goopy sweetness and high boost. Not my favorite.

Tulip at the brewery - pours a lightly hazy copper - loose, soapy lace - nose of kettle-soured lactic notes and mild yogurty yeast bugginess - flavor is dry, with moderate lactic tartness, finishing with some light white vinegar and grape must - a mild hint of funk - a bit of saltiness - kind of berliner in character - not that complex, but the quenching acidity is pretty nice.

Tap at the brewery - I really appreciate that they are going for a simple, sessionable saison here - sadly, for me, it falls flat - it certainly.looks nice - lively with a frothy head - the texture is soft and creamy - the flavor is a bit simple and kind of sweet - banana, cream of wheat, some pear esters and light spicy phenolics - sweet finish - meh.

Draft. A- Spices, subtle citrus, wheat. A- Light yellow color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Subtle spice, subtle citrus, wheat. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- Very soft and not a ton of flavor. It would be easy to drink on a hot day, but with all the other great brews in the area, I think I could find something else in this category more worthwhile.
