(Bottle 30 cl) Comes as "Jopen Extra Stout". Clear, reddish brown with an off-white head. Soft aroma of roasted malt. Fairly light-bodied with sweetish notes of roasted malt. The finish is dry. Closer to a Sweet Stout or even a Dunkel - not really a Dry Stout. 120507

Bottle: Poured a orange amber with lots of bubbles which formed a creamy head. The aroma was spicy and citrus. Taste was sweet but you could definetly get a orange peel aftertaste.

Bottle, 5.5% as Jopen Stout Extra. Fruity aroma. Almost black colour, small light brown head. OK roasted flavour, quite fruity. Hard roasted, burnt flavours. Thin mouthfeel. The finish is slightly fishy/smoky. Would be a good session beer for me.

Bottle at London Drinker BF 07. Sour. Ruby dark colour with beige head. Lasting bit of smoke and sour dark fruit aroma. It’s alright. Some sour damson fruit. Bit thin in mouth. But otherwise it’s a sour fruity stout.

I don’t know what I was expecting; I guess something with more of an English or imperial stout character. This is a good dry stout. There is a roasted character in the nose as well as fruit and malt. Dry, vinous quality, here some English character is showing through. Low carbonation, and a very dry finish. Tasted at Gollem, Amsterdam.
