Small white head over very slightly hazy straw-coloured beer. Grassy, herbal, maybe some cloves. Oxydized malts taste, old waffles, very slight bitterness at the finish. Fizzy, light MF, even belying the already modest 6.8%. Not really impressive.

Sampled as Rock’n Roelbier.Slight gushing to thick yellowish head over metallic, orangeish beer. Some lace forming. Hefty liqueurish nose, quite some alcohol jumping out, and faint spices, especially pine, spruce and cypress. Sharp liqueurish taste, alcoholic, caramel and dry spices. Warming up, it gets real peppery, chilli-like. Remarkable throatwarming, that is more than alcohol at 7%, reinforced no doubt by the spices. Bit oily, but not really slick. Medium bodied. I’m not convinced by the peppery onslaught. A beer is somewhere supposed to be thirst-quenching, not the opposite, no?

Good pinkish head over orange-pink beer with a foxy shine, hazy. Red berries nose, but quite a bit artificialsemicolon certain streak of currant leavesapostrophe aroma. Strange mix of fruit, fruitsyrup, wheat, tartness and sugar. Without being really bad, not my taste. Bit sticky MF, despite the backthroat tartness. Spritzy, light body. Ho-hum, without being really disappointing.

Dark red brown colour with thin lacy head. Spicy aroma. The gagel/gale gives a clean almost menthol scent. Flavour initially dominated by the slightly sour, herby feel. A little maltiness is also present. High alcohol content means the beer ends with a warming feeling.

Hazy, pale blond appearance. Very sharp, zesty aroma with citrus and coriander notes. Feels a little on the thin side. Is very refreshing and tangy though and would make a great summer session beer.

Bottled at het Amsterdamertje, Göteborg, Sweden. Hazy golden color, fluffy white head. Grainy malty scent. Sweet malty taste. Medium to moussy mouthfeel, low bitterness.

Pours clear amber into a tumbler. White sickly bubbles recede to skim rim. Peach and strawberry aromas. Tingly and fruity (peaches, pears and apples) from front to back. Mildly lactic sour finish. A little cider-like.

Bottle: Poured a brownish red with a thin off white head. Aroma is red berry type fruits with a slight mysterious citrus lingering. Taste is raspberry and acid, leaves the mouth dry and tingly.

A lightly hazed blonde ale with a lacing white head. A plesant fruity aroma of ginger, cranberries and honey, like a fruit cake. In mouth, a dissapointing ale, with sweetish malt and light lactic points, a bit of fruity esters but I cant taste the other spices from the aroma. Bought at the Cracked Kettle, and tasted in Nov. 2006.

Bottle: Honey-amber coloured, stable foamy off-white layer; sweet-sourish alcoholic nose with a malty touch; moderate to strong sweet-sourish flavour, full bodied; warming, alcoholic, tart and sourish finish. O.K., but not great............
