Draft at Stags head. Surprised other reviewers don’t mention that this is bourbon barrel aged because that is pretty much all i get. Tons of bourbon flavors, caramelized sugar, piney, grapefruit rinds, herbaceous, and a fading sweet finish. Bourbon overpowers this

Hazy golden coloured body with a thin just off-white head. Aroma of pungent hops with a nice malt note, some banana and pear sweetness and quite a lot of herbal and floral notes. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong assertive hops showing grapefruit, pine and a lot of herbal notes, complete with a good dose of alcohol, honey sweetness and some syrupy and resinous finishes. Aftertaste is quite potent, but not bad for the style - more hops and malt than the sugars, but nice and closer to an IPA than an Imperial IPA. Overall, a nicely balanced and strong, but drinkable Imperial IPA that borders on the edge of being a ’normal’ IPA. I sampled this 14 ounce pint on cask at Pony Bar in New York, New York on 13-July-2013 for US$5, as always!

Location: Cask at Pony Bar (HK), 5/15/13

Aroma: The aroma is on the sour side, with some underlying roasted malts
Appearance: It poured a dark brown color with a (large for a cask beer) frothy beige head
Flavor: The taste is a little sour as well, with some light-medium malty sweetness as well
Palate: The body is light-medium, and it has a very smooth and creamy cask feel to it
Overall Impression: Oddly, this tasted more like a sour than a porter. Accidental sour? I can't say for sure, but it somehow sorta kinda worked. Weird stuff. I'm not sure how to rate it as I'm not sure what the intent was here.

Drought. Dark brown color, spongy brown-beige big head, strong whisky aroma mixed with coffee beans, sweetish bourbon taste, long finish. The barrel seemed to have a very strong influence!
