Ok. Pours dark brown with tinge of red. A little lacing. Not much going on here. Finiishes with little taste one way or another, only slight sweetness and some barrel. On tap at brewpub.

Bottle - Tropical fruit, especially mango and grapefruit. Copper and clear with a white foamy head. Unfortunately the taste lets this beer down. Thin, bitter, resinous and just not that great. If they can match the aroma to the taste this would be a slam dunk. Draft - Nose is still great, but on tap at the brewpub the body and flavors are much better. A bit of fresh pine and some of the tropical fruit comes through. Mandarin and orange peel in the bitter finish. Increased the score based on the more recent draft.

Bottle, thanks Daniel! Orangepeel, mint and preserved apricot aromatics with fresh hop overtones. Cloudy red chestnut, creamy amber head. Light Rumtopf, rye bread, plums, orangepeel in the background. Roast grain, pepper, restrained yeasty notes follows, wonderfull grassy and citric hop finish. Chewy, yet dry and sparkly mouthfeel. Dark bread, lemonpeel and pine aftertaste. Moreish bold and fresh rendition of a really difficult style - I am well impressed.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a dirty dark mahogany. Aroma of toasted malts, toasted nuts, and subtle German yeast. Flavour is rich, full of dark dried fruits, caramel, toasted nuts and some moderate sweetness. Quite "sticky" with a rich array of flavours. Really well brewed.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma of perfume, toasted nuts and toasted malts. Flavour of toasted malts, some toasted nuts, a touch of dark dried fruits, and English hops. Very well balanced with a medium body. Good stuff.

Bottle, thanks for bringing it over Daniel! Dark chestnut, offwhite cream. Bready, light vineous fruity and roasted notes. Fairly roasted entry, slightly burned caramel, some coffee. Roast, honey, light bready notes, fresh herbal and grassy hops. Needs a little bit more chewyness - it falls a little bit flat towards the end. Mellow creamy mouthfeel. Dark roast aftertaste.
