Bottle at home. Aroma is vanilla, tiramisu, dark malt, milk chocolate, mild roast, lactose. Flavour is sweet and above moderate bitter. Body is medium, could have been a bit creamier. Delivers as promised, enjoyable, but needs a heavier body to support the dessert aroma.

[as Emelisse Blonde IPA, ABV 5.8%] Bottiglia. Il naso è indirizzato verso il luppolo. L'olfatto viene stimolato in maniera elevata e l'esistenza olfattiva è sufficiente. Il cappello di schiuma ha una scarsa tenuta. La grandezza delle bollicine è a grana media. Il liquido è di aspetto nebbioso. Il colore è ambrato. Il corpo è rotondo. L'amaro è pronunciato. La forza gustativa è elevata e permane in maniera sufficiente. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano luppolate. Il retrogusto è di decente intensità. Al gusto vengono donati toni di miele, frutta secca, pane cotto di recente, agrumi, pompelmo, ananas e arancia.

Bottle from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Aroma is roasted malt, peated, whiskey, smoke, dark chocolate, oak, touch of dark fruits, some coffee, bit charred. Flavour is above moderate sweet with a surprisingly bitter finish. Body is full. Yum. Lovely peaty dark chocolate and whiskey, fine balance and bittersweet smoothness. Pretty great!

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, soft wood, mocha, some liquorice, with a touch of dried red fruits. I do get plenty of wood upfront, but the red wine is subtle. Flavour is fairly sweet with some roasty bitterness in the finish. Body is full. While the wine is subtle, the base Stout is supplemented well with notes of wood. Hardly great, but not a bad first encounter with the new Emelisse White Label series after the not-so-hostile takeover.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is roasted malt, bourbon, oak, dark chocolate, caramel, booze, liquorice, soft smoke, touch of coffee, with notes of iodine and green apples. Flavour is medium sweet with a firm roasty bitterness in the finish. Body is medium to full. A decent-ish bourbon aged stout, not too sweet, but lacks the refinement I expect from the style.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is lots of wood, tart fruits, red wine, grapes, brown malt, and vinous notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and sourish with some bitterness. Body is medium but feels too weak for the style. Disappointing, too watery and the aroma the result of unbalanced barrel aging.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, mild green chili, bit syrupy, with mild notes of liquorice. Flavour is sweet with a moderate roasty bitterness. Body is above medium. Didn't get any pumpkin and the chili is very restrained, but this is a nice chocolate Stout if a bit syrupy and sweet.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is dark malt with peat, oak, roast, chocolate, whiskey, alcohol, and a little sharpness from the barrel. Flavour is rather sweet with a moderate bitterness and some warming booze. Body is medium to full. Still nowhere near the old White Label lineup, but showing some promise of redemption.

Bottle from De Bierliefhebber. Aroma is sweet caramel malt with peaty Bowmore, dried fruits, oak, ash, soft raisin, and smoke. Sweet flavour with a light bitterness. Body is above medium. Can't say that the peated whiskey works really well with the Barley Wine, it's a rough marriage for sure.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is sweet dried fruit with malt, raisins, caramel, oak, whiskey, marzipan, toffee, touch of vanilla. Sweet flavour with some mild booze. Medium to full body. Sweet but not too alcoholic, nice barrel character, pleasant one.
