Description
At Hop City, we create beer that inspires the curious, and fuels the restless.
We embrace the journey as much as you do. We take risks, make wrong turns, and just go for it.
For us, it’s about believing in curiosity. Because even though it may have killed the cat, before he died, that cat probably had a pretty good time.

I was just complaining about never finding Ontario beers in the U.S. and lo and behold I find this crap on the shelf. Why the hell is this the only beer I can find here. Blame Moosehead for this. Crappy corn flavor. Terrible paint thinner finish. I’m only glad to share this so the burning of this crap continues. Bottle from Perfect Pour.

Ambar, minimamente nebulosa. Espuma blanquecina, cremosa. Aroma malteado con notas cítricas. En boca, base malteada, miel, y notable amargor frutal, con bastante pomelo y mango. Final muy amargo con postgusto plenamente frutal. Cuerpo moderado y bien de gas.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head leaving a discreet lacework. Slightly citrusy hop aroma, but also a little greasy and tired. Medium body, caramellish and metallic with a rough, late bitterness. 290915

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange to slightly ruddy brown transparency with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than thirty seconds leaving some messy sticky lacing clinging to the glass.
The smell started off with sweet apricot leading into light caramel notes. Citrus is somewhat there but really stays in the distance for the most part.
The taste was moderately sweet carrying a light sticky bitterness to try and balance but not so much. A light sweet sticky slightly caramel aftertaste runs into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light allowing the bitterness to be the bulk of the harshness hitting the tongue.
Overall, I say this was an okay kind of AIPA. Would I have it again? Maybe, but probably not something to seek out.
