Description
We are an independent craft producer of cask and bottle-conditioned beers. Brewing behind the legendary & historic pub, The Talbot at Knightwick in Worcestershire.
The brewery was first opened in 1997 by the Clift family. Annie and Wiz Clift ran The Talbot at Knightwick, Worcestershire while their brother Philip ran the family farm at Lulsley Court nearby. The Clifts had been growing hops since the 19th century and a logical progression of the farm and pub businesses was to brew beer from their own hops to sell in their own pub. In August 1997 the brewery equipment was installed behind the pub and in September 1997 Chris Gooch joined as brewer.

Bottle at home, from the local Co-Op ... always keen on a Worcs tick as a low rated county, 04/02/18. Rich golden amber with a well presented light beige head that retains well. Nose is toffee, stewed fruits, baking powder, light orange peel, straw. Taste comprises light cocoa powder, toffee, fruit esters, brown bread, biscuit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with mellow bitternss. Decent enough offering and the chocolate malts certainly come through.

Two cask half-pints, gravity poured on 7th Sep 2017 in a huge marque somewhere in Worcestershire. Light amber body, white topping. Hop centirc brew (it was a Hop Walk and hop presentation event), First Gold I believe being the biggest player, so some orange like aromas and flavours dominated the brew, fairly bitter too.

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Almost clear gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is light and fairly dry, modest carbonation. Grainy sweet malts. Dry floralness and insipid orange citrus. Tired tasting.

Light beige frothy head left a cover on a rich oak coloured still body. Malt & dark sugar aroma. Thick, cloying & a slight fizz on the back. Malty burnt tastes to the fore with caramel & toffee followed by a long tangy back of hops & citrus. A good twist on an English Bitter.
