Description
The Atlantic Brewing Company began as Acadia Brewing in 1990. At first the brewery was located inside the Lompoc Cafe in downtown Bar Harbor and had a maximum capacity of just one barrel at a time. Within a few years the demand for our beers had grown so much that we moved the brewery two doors down from the restaurant and increased our capacity to seven-barrel batches. However, by 1998, we had outgrown that facility as well and so we moved again – this time to our current location on the Knox Road. Our estate brewery was built on the grounds of a 19th century Maine farmstead, that employs native vegetation and local stonework.

Atlantic Brewing Company has created a site to develop new and exciting small batch beers only seven barrels at a time. This pilot facility allows fellow brewers from around the state, country, and world to collaborate on unique recipes and formulations in a shared environment. These brews, together with Atlantic small batch beer, are offered in a tasting room setting. Flights, large pours, and growlers are available for purchase at the bar.

Bottle. Light smokey malt flavor. Dark brown color with small head. Peat smoke malt and heather flavor with hint of dried cherries. Long lasting smoky aftertaste. Well blended with no overpowering flavors. Very nice.

Bomber from Porterhouse; Nose of clover honey, caramel malts, appley fruitiness, and clovey spiciness; dark copper color with a small off-white head; flavor is mildly sweet with caramel, and some dark fruit notes like a Belgian ale and some alcohol lasting into the finish.

12 oz bottle. Crystal clear copper color (cccc) with weak off white head. Aroma of faint malts, blueberry and tartness. First taste is sweet blueberry then sweet caramel malts then berry tartness and subtle hop hints. The flavors are well balanced with malts and berries. There is an even berry aftertaste that isn’t too tart or too sweet.

No particular aroma. Almost opaque in my steeler stein. Very good on the intake with nice carbonation. Finish leaves something to be desired, such as less lingering bitterness.

This stout eclipses other dry stouts with its balance of sweet, bitter and dry. Black pour with big bubbled tan head. Its nose is mainly roasted malts with hints of sweet coffee. The flavor started sweet and malty and moved quickly to roast and coffee and finished tart and bitter. Thin body with moderate, raspy carbonation. Acidic finish. Highly drinkable.

This beer does nothing to make you take notice of it — nothing good and nothing bad. You could drink several in a session and not be disappointed. Translucent brown body with a moderate tan head. Aroma is malty with some notes of grain and earth. Flavor is sweet and slightly hoppy in the finish. Watery texture and active carbonation.

A dark red-brown beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet with a weird coffee note - is it some expresso roast with vanilla in it? The flavor is sweet and very roasted malty, and with quite strong notes of expresso as well as some notes of vanilla.

Black body, beige head. Enticing aroma of roasted malts, sweet chocolate, molassis. Flavor was pleasantly bitter. Roast and chocolate dominate, but there are undertones of plum and caramel. Medium body and lively carbonation. Moderately dry finish. Nice.

Pours dark amber into a pint glass. Bright blueberry aromas -- hand picked -- smells great. Very slight blueberry quickly turns bitter in the lighthouse style. Very nice for a blueberry.
