Bottle. In remembrance of Pieter Hofstra, a real Beer Geek that passed away way too early. RIP Pieter! Color: Very dark ruby, going towards black. Thin light brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, liquorice, oak wood. Taste: Dense and smooth mouthfeel. Roasted malt, vanilla, a lot of oak wood. Notes of liquorice, raisins and hints of nuts and lactose. Full body, below average carbonation. Over moderate to medium sweet, over moderate bitterness. Very long lasting finish. Very nice.

Bottle. Color: Hazy orange, white head. Aroma: Tart, fruity, hints of smoke, Taste: Moderate tart and moderate sweet, spicy yeast, subtle fruity and earthy Rhubarb notes, hints of smoke. A little more smoky at the dry finish. Light to moderate hopbitterness in the background. Medium body, just below average carbonation. Nice complexity and balance.

Slow gushing to medium white head over hazy golden beer. Noticeable orange aroma, orange chewing gum, green herbs/weeds, gingko. Bitter(ish) orange, some meaty esters, but the flavours are not lasting, beer falls flat with only a bit fleeting orange. Light feel (for a 7.3% ABV beer), but not empty; bit slick/oily.
