Description
We are artisan producers at the heart of Somerset’s cider-land making whole juice sparkling cider by the old English method of keeving.

Apples are collected from traditional cider orchards in and around the parish of Pilton and slowly fermented for six months in our cool Victorian cellar before bottling.

Pilton is available as a selection of bottles and also draught in kegs, see our full range here.

Sample thanks to Ed, sipped listening to #nowplaying on 6music. Pours clear gold. Aroma of sticky sweet marmalade, light spice. Taste brings a sweet, bitter marmalade character with light juniper hints and acidic citrus moments, with a dry gin linger. The cider's keeved qualities seem hidden behind all of this unfortunately with marmalade dominating proceedings, and very little rum presence. Not really a marmalade guy, so it's dominance here is not winning me over. Perhaps more rum and keeved fruit would swing things.

Sample, thanks Ed for this one. Drunk whilst thinking about riding my bike in North Wales tomorrow. Clear gold appearance, toffee apple nose. Taste is all about the keeved cider on the front of the palate, smooth, harmonious blend, nice fleshy fruit, with a subtle misty smokiness coming through on the finish. Islay influence is thankfully mild, but welcome. Interesting, captivating even.
