Description
Hardywood officially began its mission to brew with purpose in late 2011 as one of only two craft breweries in the city of Richmond. Our original brewhouse and taproom was a vacant warehouse discovered in a long-forgotten neighborhood known nearly a century prior as Richmond’s German Brewing District. Hardywood has been drawing new life to this forgotten area one draft pour at a time. We now operate a 20-barrel brewhouse and taproom in the original location, as well as a 60-barrel brewhouse and destination brewery in the West Creek area of Richmond, right on the border of Goochland County.

Today, Hardywood continues to develop and deliver on its mission with a sharp focus on brewing quality, sourcing local, environmental stewardship, community engagement, and giving back.

16 oz. can. Dated 01/28/22. Aroma is chocolate, earthy green and moderate coffee bean. The coffee is not dominant. It compliments the chocolate and earthy grains. Soft carbonation with a medium body. Alcohol is extremely well hidden. Nice drink!

12oz bottle from Tavour. 11.6%. Thick black flat pour, a few stray beige bubbles float around. Sweet gingerbread aroma. Taste is warm gingerbread drizzled in chocolate sauce, warm and sweet. Slick, smooth, velvety feel. Excellent across the board.

(Thin) Can from Chris J, thanks! Black with a small head. Nice raspberry nose. Very nice blending of the roasty stout flavors with raspberry, coffee and cacao hints, really a very nice stout.
