Description
Born in La-Roche-en-Ardenne and developed and refined in Ghent, this hoppy beer combines Walloon passion and Flemish perseverance. An exceptional Belgian product that owes its name to a Flemish and a Walloon Belgian. Independently of each other, they had the same inspiration. So they named the youngest descendant of the Belgian beer paradise… L’Arogante. More Belgian you can’t get!

Bottle at home. Hazy dark orange with a big white head. Aroma is very fruity hoppy, grassy, citrus, weeds, light grapefruit and a little yeast and malt behind. Flavour is light moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Not so Belgian as I expected from this.

Amber colored, unclear, medium white head, good lasting. Aroma is caramel, malty, fruits, floral and citrus hops. Taste is medium sweet caramel malt, some bread, fruits, citrusy and floral hops, bit peppery, medium bitterness, dry finish, good lasting aftertaste. Medium bodied, average carbonation, bit resiny. Surprisingly hoppy but still in the decent limits, good stuff!

Bottle at Aba Jour, Gent, Sunday 18th October 2015. Hazy gold with a sticky, clingy white head. Subtle aroma, other than a touch of spice there is little else. Nice soft carbonation, spicy but also a big hoppiness, dry finish, it’s a good beer but spiciness can be a touch heavy handed. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Bottle @ home. Clear yellow orange golden color, full sized white to off-white head that lasts for a long time. Aroma is malts, hops, quite a lot of fruit hops. Taste malts, again very nice full hoppyness and quite nicely fruit hops with a near perfect harmony with the hop bitters. Medium body and carbonation. Definitely in my top 3 IPA’s from Belgium which aren’t full on American IPA’s like for exemple DDVK makes. Very pleasant.

First beer of what appears to be a contract brewer under development. Stylish label on a stubby bottle. Stable, lacing, snow white, dense head over a misty peach blonde beer. Aroma of orange peel, flowers, pear, toasted bread, chestnuts. Dried fruits in the mouth, touches of walnut and toast but remaining soft and sweetish, with a floral, peppery hop bitterness in the finish, but not nearly enough to be called an IPA; if anything, I could regard this as a ’Belgian IPA’, but even then it lacks some hop character. Still, an enjoyable and well-made beer for sure.
