Description
Founded in 1784 by Jean Baptiste De Bruin and still a family brewery to this day; known as Brouwerij Schelfaut until 1919, when the name was changed to Brouwerij Bios by Paul Van Steenberge, who became the head of the operation in 1922. Currently operated by his great-grandson Jef Versele (since 1998). Underwent many technical upgrades and expansions since then, most notably in 2017 when new buildings were installed and production capacity was significantly increased.

Tropical fruits, banana esters, ligjt cereal grains. Loads of booze as it warms. Light bitter finish big a jolt of slcohol and a big doughy sweetness. Pretty messy.

12oz bottle label is Monk’s Cafe Flemish Sour Ale. Aroma is sour red wine, and red wine vinegar, very sour, and pungent, but there is a lingering cherry finish. Flavour is tart, but not too tart, a welcoming sourness, with a nice fruity cherry kick. Not too bad, i’m not big on the style, but this isnt half bad.

wasn’t a big fan of this, I must say he best park was the bottle. I foudn it VERY boozy, and it overpowered most of the flavour. maybe an off bottle, but not very enjoyable.

very typical belgian hoppiness. definetly a strong ripe frutness to it, but whoa its boozy! nice HUGE head, solid beer, but the booze isnt hidden very well.

Clear yellow/golden color. Frothy thick creamy head that lasts for ever. Nice spic citrus aroma. Flavour is spicy, and crisp. A nice tripel, nothing mind blowing or revolutonary, but a nice solid beer.
