[AKA: Maerlant Damse Tripel] Golden colour, beautiful creamy head, maintained by a vigorous perlage (how many beers still have a collar of foam after 1 hour?). Winy, sour aroma in the beginning; velvety malt later. Powerful body, pretty high alcohol, malty, a bit sweet in the front, strong bitterness at the end, introducing to a good strong aromatic and long palate. Very linear, very good.

Mellow; malt and caramel flavour; if you really look for it, there's a little nuttiness, the age. Suffers for the lack of bitterness, it doesn't have enough sweetness/body, but it's still drinkable.

Dark red-brown colour, with large head, persistent. Deep aroma, malt, candi sugar, hint of spices, aged houblons, very light vanilla. Full bodied, smooth, sweet, with some malt depth, dark sugars, vanilla cake, some warming alcohol. It has character and complexity.
Very good.

Dark amber, misty, generous big head (remarkable for a 10.5 ABV). Sweet malt aroma, enough strong, with some caramel and a hint of cloves. Pour from the bottle in a small waterfall, to reduce the carbonation; a body of unmatched strength, never too sweet, well balanced by a generous hopping that ends in a highly pleasant ending; a good spicy note joins the hop in the mid and finish; and later also a persistent caramel equalizes the hop. Maybe some alcohol can be noticed, but not too much for such strength. Simple and great barleywine.
