8.5% 550 yen for 180ml at 23 Craft Beerz, Nagoya. Cloudy amber pour with a minimal head. The serving glass was a spitting image for the GJBF best aroma glass sans logos. The aroma was malty sweet, some funk, booziness with a breadyness to it. Quite a light beer with an effervescent quality to the body which is unusual in a barley wine. The taste is malts: caramel, toffee fig followed by a bit of fruitiness with almost Belgian estery notes. It is pretty good but I’d probably class it more as an old ale rather than a barley wine. That being said it is still quite nice, smooth, easy to drink & well balanced.

Hazy amber golden color. Moderate bitterness lightly astringent. Tropical fruit and lime nose. Well balanced. Moderate bitterness. Decent without blowing me away.

Hazy amber golden color. Nose is fairly undistinguished. Earthy tropical fruit nose. Mouth is moderately bitter not a ton of depth. Ok.

Tap at Molto. Nice tropical nose, grapefruit. Semi-sweet flavor with good fruitiness and a light bitterness in the finish. Good as usual, though not as distinctive as some others they have done.

Clear pale golden color. Rocky white head. Very clean malty nose with a touch of yeasty nose. Clean malty beer with modest yeast character. Nothing fantastic but well made and enjoyable.

On Tap at Molto. It poured a clear gold with a thin head & a nice citrus aroma. The flavor was citrus, sweet, with a bitter finish. Ok but not so special.
