Draught at 1020. Dark amber and cloudy with a fine head. Nutty, biscuity nose, chocolate, clove, tons of cinnamon, light funk. Like a cinnamon cookie. Spicy, fruity flavor, cinnamon and love, toasted bread. Lightly tart and funky. Good, though not quite perfect. Approaching a dunkelweizen in color and taste but not quite.

Draught at Q-Brick. Deep amber-gold, nice low head. Nice fruity hop nose, carmel, grass, orange, lightly tropical. Tasty: sweet, full, flavor with good hops. Not exceptional but very nice. This hop blend works, but doesn’t really stand out as something special.

Draught at the Yokohama GJBF 2012. Nice deep gold. Great hoppy nose, lots of Nelson maybe, a bit of catpiss, but lots of grass and citrus. Sweet flavor, smooth, lots of great hops.

Hand pump at Fujisawa Mokichi. Black with lace and nice legs. Looks close to flat. Big chocolate, licorice, spice, coffee. Some phenols, strawberry. Big dark chocolate flavors, spicy, with some roasted wood and nice fruit. A bit roasty, but not as much as the keg version at Hopman, which was too burnt and not Belgian enough. Same day. Licorice and Belgian yeast character coming out nicely here. A bit of cherry. Good stuff.

Tap at Hopman. Deep gold with a fine, low head. Lemon7 nose, yeasty and spicy, with peach. Great spicy, fruity flavor with sweet honey and something like pineapple and grape and a huge bitter finish. Big and flavorful, a bit harsh bitterness, but nicely put together and balanced. Great.

Draught at the Kyoto craft Beer Festival, 2012. Orange amebr color. Nice malty nose. Quite bitter flavor, probably some from malts, but it still works to balance the rich malty sweetness quite well. Sweet flavor goes to a dry, clean finish. Grainy, bready, a good maibock
