On handpump at Mokichi. I asked for the ABV and no one seemed to know, so I think they just guess 7%. I would say more like 8-9%, but whatever.Pitch black color with nice dark brown head. The nose explodes with malty goodness, hops and a touch of esters. Cherries, bready, earthy, pie crust. Smooth, alcohol well hidden, rich but never cloying. Very full bodied.Cherries and wooden finish. So rounded and smooth. Wow. Excellent. Tons of depth and very well made - again, these guys are really becoming one of the best breweries in Japan. This is one of the best Japanese craft beers I’ve ever tasted.

cloudy golden color. Lots of cloves with a hint of smoke. A bit sour. Pretty refreshing, but not smokey enough. Not bad.

Draught at 1020. Pretty orange color, cloudy, with lace. Typical weizen nose, banana and good clove, only very lightly smoky. Also smoke is barely distinguishable in the flavor (heard it was stronger when the keg was first opened), lightly tart, banana and clove. Tastes nice enough for a weizen, can barely call it a rauch. Needs about 10 times as much smoked malts.

Draught at Snow Monkey Craft Beer Live. Deep gold with orange, lacy foam head. Faint citrus and grass nose. Rounded citrus hop flavor, with a bit of mango and other tropical fruits, and hay. Nice bitterness. Decent stuff, but not as good as their last two versions.

Draught at Craft Beer Mokichi. Orange-copper with a fine, high head. Pretty. Nice citrus and grass nose. Orange and some honey. Spicy hop flavor, nice bitterness, light caramel. Flavorful with citrus and grass, oranges. Hops really work well. Nice body too. Very good. Much better than the regular IPA I had from them last year. The more I drink, the more I like it!

Deep golden color. Nice resiny hoppy nose with some floral notes. Well balanced smooth mouth with not too aggressive hop profile. Somewhat moderate finish. Well balanced and very drinkable. Enjoyable.
