Description

Bottle (Danke, Jonas!): Cloudy, orange-juice-like coloured, big and slowly collapsing dirty-white head, moderate to solid yeasty-bready nose, supported by mainly herbal hops; robust dry bitter flavour, low sweetness, medium bodied; lingering fruity-yeasty finish with a pinch of balancing pale malt. Sigh! Drinkable...

330ml bottle. Cloudy, orangey, golden/brass colour with small to average, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy and fruity, muesli-like aroma, notes of apple, pear, bready and spicy malty overtones with a touch of grey bread, whiffs of caraway. Taste is slightly spicy, minimally grainy, bready malty and yeasty fruity, notes of apple, pear, hints of mirabelle, apricot, moderately bitter, slightly grassy hoppy counterpart, whiffs of black pepper, caraway, overtones of orange peel. Minimally slimy, watery texture, dry palate, medium, prickly carbonation. Somewhat rustic, very fruity, nice composition - good!

Bottle sat outside at Bierkiste München Friday 16th July 2021. Pours hazy yellow/gold with a white head. Definite grape action on the nose, funky bretty touches as well. A very interesting beer and wine (30% 2017 Riesling) tart, tangy, sour, fruity, zappy, bretty, I like this a lot. Btw we just had a pizza from the place across the road, it wasn't great.

0.33 l bottle from the brewery's web shop, bottled in May 2021. Minimally hazy, golden amber with a large, quite dense, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, gently fruity-floral, slightly grassy and a little yeasty-spicy aroma of lemon peel, peach, hay, light grains and some clove. Gently sweet, moderately bitter, rather dry, quite fruity-floral, minimally yeasty-spicy taste of hay, lemon peel, peach, clove and light grains, followed by a short, moderately bitter, quite dry, slightly grassy, gently yeasty-spicy finish. Medium body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Really well-balanced classic Saison, nicely dry, not too yeasty and with a pleasant fruitiness. Good!

0.33 l bottle from the brewery's web shop, bottled in May 2021. Black with a thin, foamy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty, minimally fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, some licorice and traces of dark fruits. Quite sweet, malty, rather bitter, fairly roasty, minimally fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, lots of licorice and a touch of dark fruits, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, fairly earthy, very hoppy finish. Medium body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Really intense stout, very roasty and also incredibly hoppy. Classy stuff, Flügge cannot only brew wild beers!
