Description
Hangar 24 began its craft brewing exploration with a true passion for good beer, the absolute love of flying and the pure enjoyment of being around great friends. My buddies and I used to meet at hangar No. 24 at the Redlands Municipal Airport, after an afternoon of flying, to trade stories, talk aviation, play music and share a few cold ones that were recently home brewed. These days, the location of where the beers are brewed has changed, but the quality time spent enjoying a delicious, handcrafted beer and conversation with friends is the same as ever. I personally want to invite you to join the adventure. Cheers! Ben Cook.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden/orangey color ale with a small foamy head with very little retention. Aroma of tart notes is dominant some oak and acidity also showing. Taste is also a mix of sour notes with some pronounced acidic flavours, some oak and light funky flavours. Body is about average with light carbonation. Not bad but lacking depth and complexity.

Refrigerated 75 cl brown bottle corked and capped. Black with dark brown highlights small beige head. Aroma is bourbon, medium/thick body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is boozy bourbon, some chocolate. The booze subtracts from this one.

375ml Bottle. Pours clear black, small fizzy beige head that dissipates soda-fast with minimal lacing. Aroma is rum forward, cocoa and molasses, oak tannin. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, rummy boozy and hot. Body is fairly disappointingly light and watery for a 13% beer. Underwhelming. Wow, in reading the previous review it would seem that we are drinking different beers. Wonder if this is infected in some way? I did not get any sourness or over infection notes, but the loss of head retention and body seems suspect.

35,5 cl bottle @ Timo A
Aroma has malty tones and chocolate – smells like a german doppelbock. Flavour has artifical chocolate, malty tones, minerals and some licorice tones. Also nuts. As said, feels rather artifical but I like it. ABV is well hidden – in fact so well that I find it hard to believe this is 8%.

Bottle thanks to Phil and Russell. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is strong milk chocolate, vanilla, sugar daddy candy, brandy. Medium body, similar flavors to nose, roast, hides alcohol well, really enjoyed this.

355 ml bottle at home, v2015, 13.5% ABV, bottle 1036/1404. Black color with small brown bubbly head that quickly disappears. Malty aroma, roasted, too much alcohol in the beginning but after some time this faints, chocolate, caramel, licorice, vanilla, some dark dried fruits, wood, alcohol again. Sweet and light bitter taste, alcoholic like aroma. Full silky oily body with soft carbonation.

Bottle. A- Bland, roasty, cocoa. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, light brown head. T- Roasty, slightly bitter, dry cocoa, leather, subtle anise. P- Medium body, slightly thin texture, average carbonation, roasty finish. O- This will hurt Imperial Porter being my top style. Not bad but I thought I’d get lots of vanilla, chocolate, and some sweetness. This was roasty overload. Not really a fan.
