Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 21/04/12. Appears mid black but can detect dark brown in the light with small beige head. Roasted malt nose with nuts and licquorice. Taste as per nose with some dried berry fruit and a little chocolate. Medium bodied with a dry finish.

Gravity dispense at Windsor Locale festival - 22/07/12. Pours a rich deep brown colour about 80% towards black with a thin tan head. Roasted malts on the nose and a big whiff of ginger, a little spice in the background. Taste is all on the roasted malt and ginger allied to coffee and chocolate in the background. Medium body, minimal carbonation, well balanced.

Gravity dispense at Windsor Locale festival - 22/07/12. Golden amber colour with a smallish white head. Citrus hop and malt on the nose. Tastes of fruit, citrus, a little caramel & biscuit malt. Medium bodied. Decent enough average beer.

Cask, gravity at The White Horse, Hedgerley, Bucks, Saturday 18th August 2012 Warm golden with barely any head. Sweet in the mouth but decent hoppiness, little thick in mouth, marmalade in mouth tasty beer. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Gravity dispense at the Windsor Locale festival - 22/07/12. Mahogony brown in colour with reddish hues when held to the light and a smallish tan head. Malt, grain, a little toffee on the nose. Tastes similar to nose with a bready feel, a little butterscotch and a sweetish bitter finish. Decent drop.

Cask at Great British Beer Festival 2012, Olympia, London. A dark brown coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Sweet, malty, vanilla aroma. Tastes similar, vanilla , malty, roasty. Smooth and tasty.

Dispensed from cask to an English half pint jug at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green, Jan ’12. Pours a clear copper-amber colour with a small white head. Not a beer that attacks the nose particularly, a little malt and hop, didn’t get any other discernable aromas. Much tastier on the palate however and a good deal of flavours for a 3.7% session bitter. Malt, light caramel notes, citrus fruits. Light in body it provides a pleasent enough mouthfeel and a slightly zingy bitter-dry aftertaste. In summary a decent enough session beer, I enjoyed my half pint but would perhaps appreciate it more on a warm summers day!

Bottle from Jacks, Westholme Stores Goring-on-Thames, consumed at home Sunday 29th July 2012 Pours very dark brown with a light beige head. Light coffee notes on the nose. Soft in mouth with a dark fruit edge, slight fruity sourness though I would stress that this appears to be intentional, it adds a nice tangy contrast to the coffeeness. Tasty coffee stout that is just perhaps a bit thin. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3
