7th Sep 2017: half-pint from a polly-pin at a hop event in Worcestershire. Golden pour, white head. Citrus lead in both the nose and taste, light spicy notes also in both the aroma and flavour. Decent.

On tap at the brewery.A pleasant reddish amber colour with a tight cream head; malty aroma; dry biscuity taste with an assertive herbal bitterness; and a dry finish. Better than average for this series.

Cask @ Thornbury Castle, London. Paler golden with next to no head. A pale ale with an appealing dryness. Has some slightly tangy fruits with a low fruitiness. Thereโ€™s a hint of grain in its nose.

Cask at the Bootlegger, 23/07/17. Clear golden amber with a well presented cream cap. Nose is mellow citric peel, bread dough, caramel, light spice. Taste comprises biscuit crumble, caramel, orange marmalade, light spice, straw. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a mellow bitter edge. Decent enough cask affair.

Cask @ GBBF 2016. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Fruity malty caramel flavor with hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty caramel finish.

Cask at Heidrun, Wycombe. I see this has been added as an amber ale, but would say itโ€™s somewhere between a golden and a bitter - definitely not an amber. As always Heidrun served it in super condition. Itโ€™s a golden-amber brew with a middling white head. Nice refreshing lemon flavours are backed up with a good malt backbone. One of the better Rebellion monthlies of the last year, which admittedly doesnโ€™t say much. Nice and refreshing and very drinkable though.

On tap at the brewery. A bright amber pour with a thick cream head; simple malty aroma; malty taste with some citrus; and a biscuity finish. A straightforward malty bitter.

Keg at the Bootlegger, 05/07/17. Pale blonde with a decent white head that retains well. Nose is pale malts, corn husk, toasted grains, straw 5 faint citric peel. Taste comprises more pale malts, light bread, hint of vanilla, cereals. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent well made lager ... crisp and clean.

Sampled at the brewery. An amber pour with a loose white head; malty aroma with a touch of orange; malty taste with an earthy bitterness. Not one of their best.
