Our brewery, built on traditional skills and values, has its home in an ancient barn, nestling at the foot of Warton Crag, an area of outstanding natural beauty AONB where we mix top quality ingredients with a great deal of love, more than a little patience and a deep seated respect for the heritage and beauty of our surroundings, to produce award winning hand-crafted ales.

Cask at the Farmers Bar, Aylesbury, 28/02/14. Light black with reddish hues and a decent light tan covering. Nose is charr, spice, coffee, chocolate. Taste comprises chocolate cake, earthy hop back notes, liquorice, light roasted tones, mellow fruit. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light drying close. Decent porter.

Cask at the Stockbridge Tap. Pours golden yellow, nose is light lemon, floral, taste is similar, crisp.

Gravity dispense at the Happy Man Autumn BF, 10/10/14. Chestnut brown with a moderate beige head. Nose is brown bread, dark malt, fruit tones, nutty twang. Taste follows, nutty, toffee, biscuit malt, dark fruit notes. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, drying close with bitter notes. Adequate bitter.

Cask @ The Crescent, Salford. Amber coloured with a glow and a frothy head. Fairly floral but a touch skunky too, maybe not too well kept, although the previous beer I had at The Crescent was fine. There’s certainly a citrus zest here.

Cask @ Tib St Tavern, Manchester. Blonde with a creamy head. Hoppy nose but a more neutral body and flavour.
