Our brewery, built on traditional skills and values, has its home in an ancient barn, nestling at the foot of Warton Crag, an area of outstanding natural beauty AONB where we mix top quality ingredients with a great deal of love, more than a little patience and a deep seated respect for the heritage and beauty of our surroundings, to produce award winning hand-crafted ales.

Cask at the Watford Beer Festival 2013. Poured a clear, very pale golden colour with a halo of white head. Sulphureous aroma with some buried floral hops and stewed fruit. Flavours of sharp lemon rind, grass and copper. Watery palate with some dry grain and light funk.

Cask (gravity) @ 29th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2012, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England.Clear dark black brown color with a average to small, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, dark roasted, moderate yeasty, UK yeast, sour. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, sweet chocolate - roasted, malty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20121204]

On gravity at Gloucester beer festival, 23/3/2013. Medium brown with a slight, off-white head. A malty bitter, with some hedgerow fruits, a sprinkling of chocolate powder and a decent bitter finish. Good.

Golden, thin white loose head. Neutral aroma some green apple, Bubblegum. Some phenols. Crisp bitter finish, stale nutty malt. Watery palete.

Cask at Pigs Ear BF 2012, London. Pours rich brown with a light, beige cream head. Light ashy roasted malt nose, faint earth notes. Light sweet flavor with mellow cocoa, ashy roast, light minerals, very faint berries, light bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Good condition. Lightly dry to finish with some burnt wood, dry cocoa and weak earthy bitterness. Basic mild.
