Description
Located in the semi-rural location of Wakes Colne in the borough of Colchester, the brewery was formed in late 2011.

All funding came from the 3 founding directors and their friends and family.

1st February 2012 saw the first brew on the 10 brewers’ barrels (about 1600 litres) kit, with this being the beer that remains our best-seller, namely Colchester No1.

Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. KEGS. Cask. Clear deep brown beer, residual bubbly tan head. Palate is light and dry. Mild fine carbonation. Good tangy toffee malt with a little dried fruits. Light dry finish. Not bad.

Hand-pulled half-pint in The Nags Head, Walthamstow Village on 4th Feb 2014. The pump clip said it was a ’Dark Copper Ale’ and it was. On top sat an off-white crown of tight bubbles. Good malt front, back and sides in both the aromas and taste. Semi-sweet without the toasted/roasted malts completely taking over, the mild caramel taste being kept in check by some spicy hop action. Decent and a new brewery to me.
