Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 7/5/2013. Deep brown with a decent, off-white head. Sweet, berry fruits, nuts and toffee, with a hint of tart plum and gentle finish. Fine.

(Cask at Edgar Wallace, Temple, London, 23 Apr 2013) Dark brown colour, almost black, with foamy beige head. Malty nose with dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and slight hints of liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, a touch of liquorice and a certain roasty bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain milky sweetness. Nice one.

Cask at the Seven Stars, Rugby, 17/04/13. Dark chestnut brown with a good sized beige head. Nose is malt forward, toffee, light smoke. Taste comprises dark malts, barley, brown sugar, toffee. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dryish finish with some bitterness. Yeah - decent stuff!

Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival in KEGS! Almost clear amber beer with decent off white suddy head. Palate is smooth and a little dry. Mild fine carbonation. Dried fruits - pleasant. A little tang. Drop of stewed tea. Mild malts and not too much bitterness. Semi dry finish. Standard bitter but mellow and done well.

Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival in KEGS! Almost opaque dark brown beer, residual suddy tan head. Palate is smooth and mildly viscous. Chocolate cocoa, quite rich. Drop of coffee. All quite smooth. Finishes with an undertone of bubblegum ester creeping in.

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 02/03/13. Dark amber with reddish hues and a thin beige bubbly head that retains well. Nose is caramel malts, fruit, a little vegetal. Taste follows, fruits, caramel, a bit on the twiggy side of the things! Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish. Pretty average stuff, not a revisit for me!

On cask @ Three Tuns, Dronfield - Clear dark red body, small pale tan head. Rather malty taste with mild sour fruit and cake fruits. Smooth palate with nice fine carbonation and a smooth finish. Nice fruity beer with a neat little tang.

Gravity Dispense at Pig’s Ear BF, London - 05/12/12. Dark mahogony brown with a thin tan head that retains well. Nose is light dark malt, toffee, caramel, hint of chocolate. Taste comprises light chocolate, light roast malt, toffee. Medium bodied, not too thin, soft on the palate. Decent enough mild.
