Cask at Pigs Ear, 05/12/13. Dark mahogony brown with a thin tan covering/swirl. Nose smacks of cheap ingredients, vanilla, cheap powdered coffee, cocoa, light roast, plastic. Taste comprises East European artificial tasting chocolate, sweet sugars, light coffee, faint roast. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry closure. Poor offering, done on the cheap, lacking depth - MISS !

Pigs Ear. Clear deep amber beer, not much of a head. Smooth palate. Sweet and somewhat artificial tasting coffee and chocolate. Light finish with a long chocolate coffee aftertaste, again a bit artificial. Not terrible but a bit weird.

(Cask at Edgar Wallace, Strand, London, 19 Nov 2013) Black colour with brief, frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, dark fruit, citrus and a slight acidity. Malty, fruity taste with notes of chocolate, dark bread, red fruit and citrus. A slight acidity seems a bit out of place. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Question marks on the shape of this, but quite drinkable.

Cask @ Gunmakers, Farringdon EC1. Pours a golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma with weak hoppy hints. Fruity malty caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty caramel finish with weak hoppy hints.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Pretty much a clear gold beer. Bubbly white head. Palate is smooth with mild fine carbonation. Clear malt. A little grapefruit hops and mild peel. Touch of sweet esters. Finishes semi dry and mildly bitter. Standard stuff but done well.

Clear dark black - red brown colour with a average, frothy - fizzy and open, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt. Initial flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter, finish flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, burnt bitter. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dark malt, dark roasted. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, roasted, sweet malt, dry, dark malt, licorice notes.
