Bottleshare at CBJ. Thanks to Fergus. A light haze on this deep amber brown beer, small pale tan head. Airy palate, fairly dry, decent fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, a little dark chocolate sits awkwardly against tart fruits. A light and semi dry finish. Don't hate it but, don't really want it either.

Dark golden colour with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have loads of pickle juice and dill. Sharp. Slightly vinegary. Weird.

(Bottle) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of oak wood, caramel, red fruit, black-currant, vinegar, chocolate, vanilla and bourbon. Malty, fruity, tart taste with oak wood, balsamic vinegar, black coffee, chocolate, black-currant, vanilla, bourbon and a tart and vinous finish with low bitterness. Almost full body, with a slight sweetness. The woody acidity tends to overshadow the pastry stout part, but it's really rich and tasty. Very nice.

Flavour is funk, citrus, some tartness and mild tartness with some slight spicy yeasty tones. Quite big on the bitterness too. Interesting bitter/sour combo in the finish and aftertaste.

1/9/2024. Bottle shared by danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear dark amber bronze brown with a small bubbly off-white head. Good pour. Aroma is a heady boozy mix of tequila, whisky and gin, with wood, dried fruit, toffee, and a touch of spice. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness and sourness, and a touch salty. Medium body, oily, average carbonation. Long sour finish. Enjoyed this.
