22oz bomber. Opaque brown-black color with a whole lot of floaties. Big luscious tan head. Smooth chocolate coffee aroma with some alcohol warmth. Mystery ABV sort of makes this a hard one to judge. Some upfront hop and cocoa bitterness lead to a thick sandy chocolate mocha smooth sweet finish. I would guess A decently high ABV, probably not higher than 8, and not under 6. Big, thick, rich coffee flavor. A respectable beer for sure, pretty intense.

12oz bottle. Thick brown-orange color with a white head. Pleasant banana-clove aroma. Relatively mild carbonation for the style, which accentuates the smooth creaminess. Mild lemony clove bitterness balances it out. A touch maltier than your typical Hefeweizen. Overall pretty middle of the road, drinkable, and unoffensive.

12oz bottle courtesy of CaptainCougar. Thanks! Opaque brown-black color, thick tan head. Roasty chocolate aroma. The moderate ABV really helps this one to shine in my opinion. Smooth and watery mouthfeel in some respects, but lots of flavor. Mild coffee and vanilla notes. The bourbon isn’t hyper-pronounced, but rather melds in perfectly with the other flavors. Really quite mellow and well done, this is a great Stout.

12oz bottle. 2009 version. Thick brown toffee color. Thin head, quickly dissipates. The aroma is rather brutal, with thick syrupy bourbon going for the kill. There is a light hop crispness that leads to a rich, malty sweet, caramel-fig aftertaste. Actually a pretty nice example of the style, doesn’t really come off overbearing, even at 11.2%. I really have trouble getting over the aroma, which in my opinion, brings this one down a notch. Either way, a big and bold beer, uniquely well done.

12oz bottle. Pitch black. Minimal white rimmed head. Bourbon aroma greets you. Huge bourbon character dominates the flavor as well. Some classic Imperial Stout tendencies, but the bourbon is overwhelming. True to style. re-rate notes...this is now one of my favorite WI beers..big rich chocolate notes in the 2011 version, delicate vanilla in the bourbon. Excellent balance.

Draft at the Old Fashioned. Light filtered gold-yellow color. Earthy bitterness, but nothing that would phase a hophead. Tastes like a Flagship beer to me, middle of the road stuff. Well balanced, but lacks depth. Solid but subdued.

courtesy of BA trade. pours black with a dark mocha head aroma of light tart cherries, lots of bourbon goodness, malts and hints of chocolate. taste, wood/bourbon barrel elements are quite present, had hints of sweet vanilla mix with hints of cherry tartness that despite the 80lbs added to the barrel doesn’t make this beer overly tart. As the beer warmed up, it gained in intensity, chocolate became more noticeable. On the palate, bourbon comes first followed by the cherries/chocolate.

A mid-range pale ale. Great appearance, gold color, a little haze, and big, white, rocky head. Mild aroma with hops and an acidic character. The hop presence in the flavor is deeper, some citrus, and mild bitterness balanced by malt flavor.

Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt, berries, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, berries, and hops, leading to a very bitter finish. The alcohol leaves a light burn on the tongue. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Black with a medium beige head.Aroma was sweet with plenty of roasted malt and burned caramel. Flavour went the same wasy. Finshed sweet.
