Sampled at the Richmond Beer Industry Gathering 2006. Dark black body with a small creamy light brown head. Dry chocolate and bitter aroma. Strong dark malt, chocolate, coffee, and bourbon flavors with a hint of vanilla.

Bottled, thanks Immy! Hazy deep golden, lively head. Yeasty almond aroma. Swet and fruity. Densely malty with notes of butter and some grassy/spicy hops. Medium bodied with some crystal malt character.

Bottle courtesy of Tpaliga: Poured a cloudy deep brown color ale with a medium dirty white foamy head with average retention. Aroma of candi sugar, big strong malt and subtle yeast characteristic can be detected. Taste is quite sweet with lots of candi sugar and some dry figs characteristics. Body was definitely fuller then average with some well concealed alcohol. Very reminiscent of Gouden Carolus Keizer though probably not as complex.

Bottle picked up at Tuckers Maltings, Newton Abbot,, Devon 14-11-06 had the same evening. Poured a warm golden colour, this was a super crisp refreshing hoppy beer, with great citrusy flavours very impressive, I liked this a lot and have had this before but forgot how good it was.

Spice is the predominate aroma and flavor from this Belgian style ale. Almost too much so when that spice comes up against the hops. Cloudy amber pour with small, white head. The nose presents pepper, clove and plastic Band-Aid. Clove is the top flavor, too. But there are hints of orange juice and tart cherries. Beneath the spice are the floral hops. I was not particularly in love with the combination which left an aftertaste of musty plastic. Lively carbonation. Medium body that comes across as clean, but then has a slightly sticky finish.

bottle - Pours a nice shade of brown with a toasted malt aroma. The flavor is sweet caramel malts with some nutty flavor. It’s easy to drink like most browns, has a medium body, and finishes mildly dry.

Bottle. Orangish pour, hazier than I would have expected. Smells the hops right away on the pour with oranges and lemons. Good full body, slight bitter finish. Very refreshing IPA.

12oz Bottle pours out a dark amber topped with a very small head. A very nice and sweat aroma. I can pick-up the Alcohol but not to strong. A very good tast.

Bottle: Copper coloured, small and quite stable foamy layer, slightly hazy with clumps (of yeast?); spicy hoppy nose with some bready, almost nutty aromas and some malt in the background; stronger, dry bitter flavour, light bodied; tart fruitiness, hop resins in the lingering dry bitter finish. Very good stuff !

Hazy golden amber ale with a thick creamy white head. Light caramel malt with floral hops. In mouth, a crisp maltwith floral piney hops, rather short, but good. Trade with Piscator. Thanks Kris.
