Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. Poured a hazy golden colour with a white head, which dissipated fairly quickly to just a halo. Aroma or grassy, spicy hops with grain and cereal notes. Big grapefruit bitterness with spruce elements, but also some biscuit flavours. Palate was a little too astringent and unbalanced for my liking.

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Impenetrable bright orange body with a thick white head. Excellent lacing. Aroma or tangerine, citrus, yeast and salt. Taste is sour grapefruit and blood orange - very tangy and refreshing. Hint of wood and spice in the finish. Thin to medium body with a champagne-like mouthfeel - lots of fizzy carbonation. A fantastic sub-4.0% ABV Saison.

Keg at the Hanging Bat, in a mini-saison session! Cloudy golden yellow, great aromas of white pepper and spicey yeastiness. Perfect sweet sour balance. Finishes dry, but a little thin. Overall really good though.

750ml bottle split three ways at home. Total gusher! Quite annoying. The aroma of apples was great as it sprayed around the kitchen. This didn’t transfer to the flutes I served it in though. In them, there were muted bready notes, white grape and yeast. Very yeasty. Cloudy orange pour. Too much carbonation. Hides the abv, but lacks the requisite saison spiciness. Disappointing.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; cloudy light brown pour with the thinnest of white head, slight saison yeast aroma and a bit of fruit, a hint of spice in the taste a bit of biscuity malt mild funk a smidgen of wood, a bit watery. Mellow carbonation.

Bottle shared at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig ’13, 10/08/13. Very dark mahogony brown with a good sized tan covering. Nose is tarte fruits, light funk, sugars, dusting of cocoa. Taste comprises dark malts, toffee, light smoke, brown sugar, earthy/grassy tones. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish. Decent.

330ml bottle. Clear orangey, dark golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Herbal, minimally piney hop aroma, woodruff, nettle, a touch of mint. Taste is herbal hoppy and has the identical woodruff, nettle and mint notes, cautious but noticeable caramel malt basis. IPA with a quite unusual hop bill - or, at least quite unusual, very herbal result of that hop bill.

I picked this up at Jacks, Westholme Stores, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon Saturday 3rd August 2013 consumed at home Wednesday 21st August 2013 Gold with large creamy frothy white head, fairly clear, head sticking on way down. Soft in the mouth, really good interpretation of a saison, dry, touch spicy, good bittersweet bite, but goes drier and bitterer, bloody good, its lemony, fruity, tasty. Marvellous. A7 A5 T8 P4 Ov16 4.0
