Bottle shared by Bruce at the Croydonia tasting. It pours deep red-brown with a small beige head. The nose is toast, earth, caramel, wood and faint citrus. The taste is caramel, earthy, wood, light toast, toffee, pithy orange and tangerine with a bitter, citric finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Smooth, well balanced and rather drinkable. Good stuff.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the brewery. Pours clear, yellow-gold with a fine, frothy white head. Nose of grains and hay, some white bread. Light sweet flavor, further hay, some tangy lemon and tangerine, doughy white bread. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Some bitter and lightly astringent hay in the finish, further doughy pale malts, tangy lemon. OK.

Bottle shared at CBC Islington with the fellas - London. Pours clear brown with a creamy tan head. Dry toasty brown bread nose, some burnt leaves. Light sweet flavor with more burnt brown bread toast, toasty leafy bitterness, dirt. Light bodied with fine to average, creamy carbonation. Moderate dry toasted bread to finish, more earthy leaves. Fine. Pretty inoffensive stuff overall.

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli and Nellie - picked up at the brewery. Pours mostly clear, bright gold with a moderate, foamy white head. Aroma holds some lightly doughy and dry pale malts, some tangy lemon. Light sweet flavor, simple dry pale malts, some zesty lemon, hints of hay. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Faintly resinous finish, more zesty lemon, some rindy bitterness, mellow biscuits, pepper, hay. A very basic but highly drinkable pale ale.

Bottle, thanks to Leighton. It pours deep brown with a small white head. The nose is roasted malt, nut, salted caramel, chocolate, crisps and hint of malt vinegar. The taste is roasty, earth, toast, burnt caramel, coffee grinds and brown bread, with a very dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not bad.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Oddbins London Bridge. Pours lightly hazy, amber-gold with a fine, creamy off-white head. Nose holds some dried citrus and lightly toasted bread and grass. Light to medium sweet flavor with further citrus, grapefruit, mellow citric tang, grass. Medium bodied with fine, tingly carbonation. Very lightly ouly and resinous to finish, some faintly astringent grassy hops, hints of plastic, tangerine, grapefruit. Decent but would benefit from a few tweaks.

GD/Cask at the 14th Egham Beer Festival at the EUSC, 28/03/13. Very dark mahogony brown with a good sized tan head. Nose is roast malt, molasses, light mineral whiff. Taste comprises dark malts, chocolate, nutty, toffee, brown sugars. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry and sweet in the finish. Fairly well balanced and drinkable - would entertain this one again!
