Description
Welcome to Battledown Brewing Co. a Cotswold based, family run brewery making world class craft beer, lager and ale. We have been brewing for 15 years, but in 2020 had a brand new brew kit installed which has allowed us to create an amazing new selection of beers. Take a look below and get to know both our Cotswold and Heritage range.
Closed at the end of 2023 when founder Roland Elliot-Berry retired after 18 years of running the brewery. His children, who run Sibling Gin Distillery sought a new owner but none was found.

500ml bottle from Favourite Beers, Cheltenham. Pours a clear golden colour with a very thin white head dissipating immediately. Aroma is malty, earthy, vegetal. The flavour is malty, light roast hints, with a rather weak hoppy bitterness at the end. Not what I expect from an IPA, it’s just a bitter, but otherwise a nice beer, though nothing special - average.

Cask. Pours light amber, without much head at all. Slightly unpleasant metallic aroma. Taste is also not great- starts off as a beer but then becomes apple, cider, then blue cheese. Maybe something was off with this one.

500ml bottle from my local brewery. Clear dark amber brown colour with a thin off-white head. Aroma is malty, lightly roasted, light hop note, toffee. Flavour is very malty, burnt malts in fact, kind of smoky - a taste which lingers in the mouth, earthy bitterness.

Cask-conditioned at the Old Restoration, Cheltenham, 5/1/2015. Deep Copper Red in colour, with a small, off-white, head that left rings down the glass. A malty beer, with some nuttiness, berry fruits and a decent, bitter, finish. Solid drinking.
