A bottle sitting on the grass in the sunshine at Wrest Park St George’s Day festivities while my girls fought running battles with their plastic swords. This was a superb English bitter, with gentle bitter hops, a nice biscuit malt, low carbonation, a slight fruity sweetness and a lovely mouth feel. Maybe it was the occasion, but it was one that a beer such as this is made for. Really, really nice.

Bottle, source not recorded. Poured clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, slightly fruity and nutty. Moderate sweetness and light bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation.

Fra cask/gravity på Plymouth CAMRA Beer and Cider Festival 24 Sep 16. Gylden. Lett uklar. Filmskum. God aprikosaroma. Smaken mer aprikos. Lett tørr ettersmak. Bra men litt uvariert.

Huddersfield Oktoberfest 2016. Copper-gold coloured ale. A light bitter in character, with a light hop-malt balance and a palatable texture.

Cask-conditioned at the Lord High Constable of England (JDW), Gloucester docks, July 2016. Deep gold in colour, with a slight, white, head. Easy drinking pale ale with a touch of stone fruits, sweetish lager malts and hint of leafy hops, ending in a moderately bitter finish. Ok.

Sampled @ GBBF day 1. Hazy murky orange brownish color, small white head. Smell and taste malts, herbs or spices, I guess gin, quite spicy sweetish as well. Not my thin at all. Meh at best.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity at the Nailsea and Backwell beer and cider festival, 16/7/2016. Golden in colour and with a slight, off-white, head. Dried fruits, ripe cereal malts, some caramel and a rapsing, boozy, finish. So so.

Cask at the ale emporium, Preston. Pours clear pale gold with a thin white head. Aromas of light malt, lemon. Taste is quite dull, faint lemon. Thin finish.
