500ml bottle: BBE June 2022. Drank at home on 28th September 2021. Weak off-white head on a clear brown body that had a red hue to it's colour. Malty front to the aroma and taste, nice 'old school' British Bitter with understated hops giving a balance and bitterness to the brew; no citrus fruits were harmed in the kettle of this beer.

500ml bottle. Pale clear golden, thin head. Aroma of malts, light grassy and citrus. Taste of sweet malts, light grassy hop, citrus, honey, light bitter. Light body, soft carbonation.

Handpull cask at the King's Head, Leicester. Cola brown, almost flat, translucent. Chocolate, Marmite, ash and a good dollop of liquorice. Well, it is liquorice - sweet, oversweet, liquorice, that dominates the taste with a bit of savoury nuttiness during the finish. Flat body. I want to like this and perhaps I'm judging it harshly on tbe account of expecting more, but it wasn't a great beer.

Cask-conditioned at the Imperial, Worcester, 5/1/2019 as Battledown Porter and at 4.4% ABV. Dark brown in colour, with a tight, off-white, head. Dark berry fruits, slightly toasty malts, and a gentle finish. Fine.

Gravity pour cask at Backwell Beer Festival. Pours black with a minimal loose tan head. Aroma: dark malts, black treacle. Taste: moderate sweet, liquorice, black treacle, dark fruits, chocolate, vinous notes. Very thin body, hardly any carb, sweet light roast finish. Didn't taste 7%+

Bottled. Clear copper colour, small head. Red berries, hay and spice up front. Mid dry with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Crisp bread, fruity caramel. Mid bitter finish.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2016, [ Great British Beer Festival 2016 ], London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX. [ As Battledown Gin House ].Unclear medium amber orange colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, spicy, ginger, herbs. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, spicy, ginger - like ginger tea - tea, pale malt, sweet malt, floral - hebal. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat.
