Cask, gravity at The Hop Pole (shop) Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, Thursday 20th August 2015 Pours gold edging towards light amber with a white head. Initial sweetness soon overtaken by a robust and lasting hoppy bitterness, citrussy throughout. Tasty and after the Mercury 7 yesterday another v.good beer from Aylesbury. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.6

Cask, handpump at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire 19th August 2015 Pours amber with an off-white head. The aroma is subtle a touch of citrus and malt. Really streaky and with a really furry lengthy pithy bitterness, perhaps lingers a little too long. Like this and for a 4.5% it’s a very good effort. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.6

Cask at the Bell, Waltham St Lawrence. Golden amber with a loose scummy-looking cream head; malty aroma; soft malty body with a immediate hit of herbal hops; giving a sustained spicy finish with some underlying caramel. Nothing particularly American about this.

Cask at the Greyfriar, Reading. Bright golden-amber with a thick white head. Lemon and grassy hops initially threaten to dominate but eventually turn out to be surprisingly well balanced against smooth sweet malts. Remains crisp, refreshing and tasty throughout. Decent stuff.

Cask, gravity at The Hop Pole (shop), Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, Friday 1st May 2015 Gold in colour with a white head, fairly pedestrian beer, its reasonably hoppy and whilst fine does not really excite, lacks an assertive hoppy bite, not got anything to really grab me. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1
