Bottle. Muddy dark amber pour. Aroma of ripe fruit, dates, caramel, licorice and smoke. Taste of sweet ripe fruit, bitter malt, some smoke, dates, iron and caramel. The smoke is interesting, but the iron is a bit off-putting. Allright.

Gedronken tijdens een proeverijtje. Donkerbruin troebel bier met matig schuim. Aroma van koffie en karamel. Smaak is zoet, koffieachtig en rokerig. Nasmaak is iets bitter.

Bottle shared by Joes. Unclear amber color, decent sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, somewhat sweet, a light hint of smoke, mostly sweet though. Don't get much more. Might be the cold I have. Decent body and carbonation. Ok.

Pours a medium brown color with a off white head. Lovely malty nose with fig, plums, raisins and a bit of chocolate. Lovely malty backbone, but with more hop bite than expected.A bit heavy, a bit warming, but nothing too extreme. Certainly refined, as I would expect nothing less. Fig and plum linger in the finish. An excellent winter warmer. Love drinking this at home on a cold winter night without central heating in Tokyo.

33 cl bottle @ Naamat. BBE 16.10.2020. Aroma has hayish grain and quite nothing else. Perhaps some sweetness. Flavour has strong ashy tones, some sweet malt and hints of nuts. Good stuff, reminds me of Bad King John.

Bottle thanks to my brother who designed the label. Haze dark brown with big dark beige head. Milk chocolate, roast, lots of nuts, light earthy, brown sugar, light coffee, brown bread. Quite sweet and medium bitter. Full bodied. Very nice!

Zero gelijkenissen met andere Trappisten. Eerder een Porter. Zware chocolade/koffie smaken. Volle body en heel kruidig.
