Golden with a touch of cloud. My bottle had a massive foamy head. Big notes of Nobel hops, light fruit, toasted cereal grain in the finish with a hint of sweet malt as it warms up. Dry and bitter throughout. Surprising and very enjoyable.

I heard about a new Tynt Meadow beer being in the works already in the spring of 2023, but it took a while to reach the Belgian market apparently. Gusher - quite strongly so even... Egg-white, membrane-lacing, medium thick, even and firm head on a misty yellow blonde robe with beige-ish tinge and no visible sparkling. Aroma of unripe Conference pear, green banana, young tree leaves in spring, a whiff of iron, ripening apricot, yellow plum even, chamomile, sweetclover, grass, honey, touch green melon, red apple, sweet brioche bread, minerals. Fruity onset, sweetish but somewhat less so than expected based on the nose, hints of green pear, apple peel and vague (unripe) banana with a dash of green melon, edged by a thin, almost faintly citric sourishness (sugared lime juice) and pierced by sharp, minerally carbonation; rounded, slick mouthfeel, cereally (even a tad 'green') and white-bready pale maltiness carrying these primarily green fruity elements to a gently bittering finish, in which the unripe fruits shine brightly, supported by very floral hops, reminiscent of chamomile, sweetclover and something soapy (Styrian-like), providing a pleasant grassy to slightly peppery bitter element as well, with drying and quenching effect. Too bad for the gushing, but otherwise this is a well-measured, refreshing, fully Belgian style blonde. Yet I do wonder why this English trappist brewery opted for the Belgian style of 'blonde': maybe the shadow of Westvleteren Blond and Westmalle Extra looms too large? I appreciated the 'Englishness' of the first, dark Tynt Meadow in that it recalls a truly English old ale (in spite of obvious Belgian influences) so I was silently hoping for this one to be more like an English pale ale or golden ale, but what I got, would not even be very remarkable amidst the oceans of actual Belgium-brewed Belgian blondes around on the market here. A missed opportunity, I would say, but maybe these monks see the light one day and come up with an English style barleywine... That said, I heard they have limitedly produced an ESB as well, so hopes are up that this one, sounding decidedly un-Belgian, one day reaches my taste buds...

Bottle 0,33ltr: Dark hazy brown coloured brew with an dry bitter taste and very little sourness also present. Hints of chocolate, raisin, plum and some caramel. Fine addition to the growing Trappist beer scene.

This is good and had surprising flavors, different from a Belgian monastic ale. Malt, lightly roasted. Some light baking spice and dried fruits.
