Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours golden yellow with minimal off-white head and good lacing. Not much of an aroma – just vague hints of summer fruits and oranges. In the mouth it starts off quite simple as sweetm watery and malty but with some slight hoppiness lurking underneath. But the more you taste it the more you find traces of other flavours lurking below – orange squash, lemons, biscuits and ginger. Finish is quite bitter. This is nice – refreshing with some hidden depths.

Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small cream head and good lacing. Some roasted malts in the nose, but not much else. In the mouth it is quite fruity and slightly sweet. Flavour has roast malts, liquorice and dark fruits. Quite a bit of ginger comes through later as well. Not bad at all.
